In less than five years, Black Hawk County has experienced seven pedestrian deaths and more than 100 traffic-related injuries. According to the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau, the state has averaged between 20 to 25 fatalities that involve pedestrians in the past year.
There has currently been a lot of construction happening on University Avenue to Commercial Street. In Downtown Waterloo, the City has been working to complete the Highway 63 and the Jefferson/ Commercial Street project.
KCRG News has recently revealed that that City of Waterloo has launched a new e-scooter program. The program will provide the people with 150 Bird scooters that will be available to rent for a fee and use in the city’s main area.

Approximately 3 miles of Complete Street Roadway including 5-lane section (Midway to Progress) and 4-lane section (Progress to Hwy 63)
